Book Club Meeting March 2013

We met tonight to discuss The Piano Tuner by Daniel Mason. Everyone read it,
everyone liked it! It was a good discussion with everyone agreeing that the plot
definitely made it a book that was hard to put down. (See my last post for a more
in-depth review of the book.)

It was Daniel Mason’s first novel. He combined travel, botany, medicine, music, the
culture and history of Burma, and a good plot to create a really good read.

Did the ending please everyone? Maybe not. But that didn’t overshadow the favorable
comments.

This would be a good book for YOUR book club—both the men and the women liked it.
Hard to please everyone, but this selection was on the money.

Next month: The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane.

(I also collect buttons!) I'm looking forward to having conversations about books with people just like you----who also love books and want to talk about them. Send me an email: booksandbooks (at) comcast.net---tell me about a book you are reading. (or buttons of interest)
