Book Club Meeting–March

The book club met last night and we reviewed Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller.  Can’t recommend it myself.

But, next month—-is a delightful read—-The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by
Alan Bradley

It’s a mystery written in 2009 and won the Crime Writers’ Association Debut Dagger Award.

First line:  “It was as black in the closet as old blood.”  (OK, second line, too): “They had shoved me in and locked the door.”

This is the first book in the series with Flavia de Luce as the British sleuth.
There are 373 pages in my library copy.
I read it last April and will reread it for the club meeting in April.
I think you’ll like it—-see if you can find it at the library.  You’re in for a
“good read”.

You already know me---I'm in your book club. I've been in your book club in Wisconsin, in New York, in Missouri, in Connecticut. Now I'm in your book club in Pennsylvania. I love books! (I also collect buttons!) I'm looking forward to having conversations about books with people just like you----who also love books and want to talk about them. Send me an email: booksandbooks (at) me about a book you are reading. (or buttons of interest)
